Linda Fargo ~ NY Fall 2011 Fashion Week

Linda Fargo ~ NY Fall 2011 Fashion Week
Linda Fargo ~ NY Fall 2011 Fashion Week by jbean31 featuring tassel earrings

I created this outfit for Linda Fargo, the SVP of the fashion office and store presentation at Bergdorf Goodman.

Fall, is all about the 70's so I channeled that vision in creating this "look" for her appearance at NY Fall 2011 Fashion Week. I selected several of her favorite items from the Polyvore Closet, including a Fingerprint Silk Satin Dress-Yves Saint Laurent, Asymmetric-Hem Riding Coat-Alexander McQueen, Sheer and Suede Bootie-Fendi, Papparazi Bangle-Ippolita, and Crystal Tassel Drop Earrings. I added a few accessories from the Bergdorf Goodman store, including a Sukey Guccissima Bag-Gucci and a pair of Cocotte Sunglasses-Christian Dior, to complete her look.

Men's Fall & Winter 2011/2012 Runway Highlights

PARIS                  MILAN

I know that most of you think about spring time or jet setting to a tropical destination in the middle of winter, but in the fashion industry, we are always one step ahead.  Beginning in January and ending in March, fashion designers from around the world, invade the cities of Berlin, London, Milan, New York, and Paris to give buyers, stylists and industry insider's, a preview of their Fall & Winter 2011/2012 collections.

As models strut down the runways, viewers will get a glimpse of what to expect next fall and winter. Prepare yourself, for a blast, from the past! The "looks" are inspired by the 70's and you will see everything from courduroy to plaid, cashmere turtlenecks, flared pants, distressed leather coats, wool and velvet jackets, and ankle boots. Designs on the runway were infused with bright and dark tones like mustard yellow, electric blue, asparagus green, and burnt orange. And neutral tones were not shy, oatmeal, rust, and a plethora of black and gray hues could be found in almost every collection.

~ Here's a preview of my favorite looks, from Milan and Paris shows ~

Armani Exchange Look Book

Many of us have dreams and some of us "dream big...." Since I was a young kid, I always had a love for fashion and a good eye for what was "in."

I created this look book for my admissions project at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles. I selected clothing and accessories from Armani Exchange and I styled looks for both men and women.  I was accepted to FIDM in March 2008 and unfortunately I was unable to attend for personal and financial reasons. To this day, my admissions project has been my guide, to follow my dreams and desires.

While I had to pursue my interests in fashion from a different angle, I am now living out my "dream" and I'm sharing it with my mentors, friends and followers.

Welcome to Armani Exchange (A/X), one of the leading fashion brands that brings a new edginess to city living among men and women. The brand appeals to young adults in their 20’s and 30’s because it offers a sleek, edgy and sexy look. The unique designs of the brand allow the consumer to create a wearable outfit for any occasion, but most importantly it allows them to express themselves and bring “fashion forward.”

Armani Exchange stores can be found in large metropolitan areas throughout the U.S. and across the globe. The line appeals to the urban city shopper because it’s not only stylish but it’s affordable. Individual pieces range in price from $20.00 - $400.00, allowing the consumer to create a complete look without spending excessive amounts of money.

As the Armani Exchange philosophy goes “it doesn’t just capture a new generation, it creates one.” So take a plunge and dive into the innovative looks and colors of spring and summer.

Look once, Look twice... Check out that "weekender bag"

We all know how grueling it is to travel....whether you are jet setting across the country or taking a weekend road trip.  But you can make your life a little simpler and travel in style, by adding a "weekender bag" to your travel accessories.

A "weekender bag" is simply a duffle bag. It is made with various materials and it comes in all sizes and colors to fit your needs. I am sure you are probably wondering how much it will set you back but do not worry, they vary in price from depending on the quality and brand.

This bag is versatile, in that it can be used as a carry-on when you are traveling or even as fashionable over- night bag. They are great because you can easily carry it in your hand or take advantage of the shoulder strap.  Next time, when you are standing in the security line at the airport, place your accessories in your bag versus the bin. This will elliminate the fear of losing items such as sunglasses, watches and necklaces when your bin goes through the x-ray machine. Not to mention, you will be the fashionable guy that everyone is admiring, as you breeze through security.

Take a look at one of these "weekender bags" and travel in style this year! Happy Shopping!!

Fashion's Night Out @ The Beverly Center

On September 10, 2010, politicians, designers, celebrities and fashionista's came together for an evening of  runway and trunk shows, shopping events, and block parties, for the first ever "Fashion's Night Out" in Los Angeles.

The annual, global event is sponsored by Vogue Magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The event showcased local designers and it spurred economic growth as retailers held promotional sales across LA, from The Beverly Center to The Abbot Kinney.

Many famous faces turned out at the Beverly Center including hosts LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Lisa Love, West Coast Editor of Vogue, and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas. VIP and Celebrity Guests walked the Red Carpet, as DJ Michael Smith was spinning music in the Center Court.

During the evening, there was a live performance art show and promotional in-store events, including the launch of A/X Music Series, Volume 16 "Ignite" at Armani Exchange. At Gucci, shoppers received the official "Fashion's Night Out" t-shirt with purchase, benefiting the New York City AIDS Fund.

I had the opportunity to watch two runway shows, which highlighted Fall and Winter 2010 fashions. Take a look at these "hot" trends that I captured through my camera lens.
